本州の旅 - パート2 (part 2)

15th Mar 2007, Cloudy, cold.... Brrr

After the buffet breakfast, we packed our bags and set out for Disneyland Tokyo. There were already quite a number of coaches at the Disneyland carpark when we reached there in the morning... And it was freezing cold when we stepped out of our coach! The icy winds just made the cold worse... All of us hurriedly "unleashed" whatever we had, like scarves, heat pack etc, to keep ourselves as warm as possible...

We're here! At Tokyo Disneyland!

Nice tulips that were grown just outside of the above "entrance".

So on we started our adventure in this cartoon wonderland... We first passed by a stretch of shophouses filled with interesting yummy confectioneries, cute toys and beautiful souvenirs.

The stretch of shophouses can be found here~..

There were also Disney staff selling kawaii balloons along the roads..

A very sweet staff selling balloons.

We didn't stop long to look at shops and continued our journey. From the end of the stretch of shophouses, the Sleeping Beauty castle could be seen.

The famed Sleeping Beauty castle... Just outside the castle, there was a performance by Minnie Mouse dressed as a princess.. Sadly, we didn't stay to watch the show.

So, as I've said, we didn't stay long enough to watch the show. Bracing the cold, we walked to Tomorrowland to have our first ride, MicroAdventure. (And man.. the queue was long...) It's a 3D show where the audience had to wear special goggles to view. If you're familiar with the movie "Honey, I've Shrunk the Kids!", then this ride would not be a stranger to you as the main cast from the movie were casted in here, and this time round, the audience were "shrunk" instead... Quite an interesting "ride".. Haha.. With all the water "splashing", the "mice running about", and the sudden movements of the seat... *roll eyes*

Next up, we "flew" in the USA rocket jet... It's a simple ride (I've sat in the Disneyland Hongkong version before..), but the cold air made it exhilarating as we "zoomed" round and round... (The queue to this ride was worse!! O.O)

5,4,3,2,1... Blast off!! (Sorry, borrowed this photo from MousePlanet.com. It's quite a good read as the writers described pretty in detail what rides there are at Disneyland and Disneysea Tokyo.)

Having queued so long for just 2 rides, it was soon lunch time. My aunt and I decided to fill our empty tummy at Toontown, which was right beside Tomorrowland. Both of us settled on the Mickey Mouse lunch box set.. And hey presto! Our lunch came with, well, a Mickey Mouse-shaped lunch box... Hahahhaha... It was pretty neat.. Our lunch was contained in it... Haha...

Aye... No more lunch in lunch box... 食べちゃった.. HAHAHHA... (Lunch box is now currently containing all sorts of small souvenirs bought in Japan...)

After lunch, we had a short walk, and saw a pretty interesting tram ride... Apparently, the tram travelled around Toontown... So, we hopped onto one of them, and.... What the?? We're back at where we had our lunch...!? ==

I know you can't see it, but yes, we're sitting in the tram..

Oh well... Whatever... We just moved on... And we went past a very long queue leading to Mickey's house... Long queue, eh? Must be something good, isn't it? So... as what the Chinese say "跟屁虫"... we followed suit and joined the queue... We queued... and queued... and queued... and queued... (zzzz) and finally, we're in Mickey's house... Hah... What's this??? The light's dim and there's nothing much in the house... Maybe except some couches, a piano and a tv(?) in the living room, a barn with funny veges and chickens... and... I couldn't remember.... Perhaps the highlight of this whole house thingy was that we could take a photo with Mickey Mouse the Wizard... O.o''

A mickey post amongst the queue???

Blur and underexposed.... ==

Overwashed.... Ok... At least my face is... ==

Finally finally... Mickey Mouse... It's kinda short, huh.. HAHAHHAHA...

So, ok... We wanted to go to this ride which I can't remember the name... The tour guide said it's good, so we wanted to try... But looking at the waiting time, we nearly fainted... (But apparently, waiting for 2 to 3 hours for a ride doesn't seem to be a big deal..) We thought of getting the fast pass for this ride, but very sadly, all the fast pass tickets were sold out! == Right.. We're not going to wait, so we skipped the ride, and moved on to The Small World... The Small World was an indoor boat ride that brought us around the world, finished with kiddish-looking dolls singing "It's a small, small world..."... If you're looking for an exciting ride, then sorry, this ride is kid-friendly... HAHA.. (I think I almost fell asleep... =P)

An outside view of the indoor small, small world...

After the small world ride, we're in time for the main parade. We managed to find a spot with quite a good view. (The Japanese are amazingly automatic! Everyone in the front was sitting down so everyone could see the parade without breaking a neck!)

Mickey in shiny suit....

My favourite "kitty"!

Ack! I can't see my Stitch!!!

It's a little distracting when you've an "above normal" (<-- inside joke) staff keeping control of the crowd...

After the parade, we walked around the areas we'd not gone yet. There were some interesting rides, but because my aunt was not very fond of a little too exciting rides, those rides were opted out. We ended up cruising via a ferry, travelling around a town of wild animals, native Americans and erm... a house from which I could hear fake explosions(??)...

Feeling seasick?

Aunt's feeling happy...

And I was still feeling cold..

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream... Saying hi to a nearby "raft"...

We then proceeded to the last ride, the train ride at Adventure Land... On the way there, we bought a box of curry popcorn.. Yes, you hear it right.. Curry popcorn, and it seemed to be a hit there.. 'Coz yet again, there's a very long queue.. Fortunately, the queue was quite fast moving... And then, off we go.. on the Choo choooo ride... *Wave*

In the train...

And just before leaving DisneyLand, we had a look at the shops (situated in the stretch of shops that I mentioned above..) and I bought some stickers!!!

I just love Stitch..... *roar*
