Crocheted Belt Revisited
Remember this belt that I made for the Drops Design cable dress?

This is especially for Ambrielle (fellow Ravelry member ^.^) who's asked how I've made this belt. =) Of course, anyone who's interested in making this belt is free to use these instructions. (I just hope the instructions are comprehensible.... ><)
The base stitch pattern was from a Taiwanese Crochet Stitch Dictionary (actually it's a translated version of the original Japanese stitch dictionary).
Note: To get the texture of the belt I had for my cable dress, use a rather "firm" yarn with some elasticity. I've used Jaeger Roma yarn for mine. Also, use a crochet hook that's slightly smaller than required for the yarn. For the following instructions, I've chosen a rather limp yarn using a bigger hook, which helps to show each stitch clearer but it loses the texture.
Chain Row
Chain 9 stitches. Then sc into the 2nd last chain stitch (stitch 8). Next, chain 5 stitches. You'll get the following...
Row 1
Next, skip 2 chain stitches (stitches 6 and 7) and sc into each of the next 2 chain stitches (stitches 4 and 5). You'll get the following...
Then, chain 5 stitches, skip 2 chain stitches(stitches 2 and 3), and sc into the last stitch (stitch 1). Next, chain 3 stitches. You'll get the following...
Next, turn your work. You'll get the following...
Row 2
Now, do 4 sc into the 1st loop. Then, chain 5 stitches. You'll get the following...
Next, do 4 sc into the same loop. You'll get the following...
Then, do 4 sc in the next loop. After this, chain 5 stitches. You'll get the following...
Do 4 sc into the same loop. And chain 3 stitches. You'll get the following...
Turn your work..
Row 3
Do 4 sc and chain 5 in the 1st loop. You'll get the following...
Do 4 sc in the same loop. You'll get the following...
Next, do 4 sc in the next loop and chain 5. Do another 4 sc in this same loop and chain 3. You'll get the following...
Continue the pattern for row 3 for the rest of the belt.
Ending the belt
Do 8 sc in each loop, then chain 3. Turn your work. You'll get the following...
Chain 2 stitches, and sc on the 4th sc (stitch 4) of the 1st loop. Chain another 4 stitches and sc on the 5th sc (stitch 5) of the next loop. Chain 2 stitches and do a dc on the chain 3 loop. You'll get the following...
Congratulations! You've completed the belt body!
A longer sample..
You could use different ways to make the ties for the belt. For me, I just used the normal "plaiding" method to make a reasonably long tie. You could then use the tie to connect the ends of the belt like a corset-fashion (aka, criss-crossing).

Cherry Red Skinny Cabled Scarf
Aye! As promised, the photos!
The scarf~ ^.^ The colours are loud, ain't it?
On moi...
Close up of the cables.
Pattern: My own (I took a cable pattern from a book of stitch patterns)
Yarn: Lang Tosca
Needle Size: 5mm
Design Chart:

Remember the Drops Design Cabled top?? After some ideas given by fellow Craftsters, I managed to make it look sort of.. um.. punkish.. Quite a cool look actually. hahahaha
The empire-waist punk look
The slacker punk look... Which I like more coz it makes me look thinner.. But.. The transition from the ribbings to the cables are way too obvious... ><

Simple Crocheted Keyhole Scarf in Novelty Yarn
Pattern: My own
Yarn: Moda Vera Burro (52% tactel, 48 polyamide) (approximately 90m/ball)
Balls used: 2 (Still have a bit of leftover)
Needle Size: 6/0 crochet hook
Foundation: Chain 21 stitches (or as wide as you like, eg. n + 1 stitches where n is an even no.)
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook. Sc all the way to the 1st chain stitch and chain 1. Turn.
Row 2: Sc in the 2nd sc stitch and all the way to the end. Chain 1. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until u get a length that's about 1 scarf-width away from the length of the scarf you want.
Starting keyhole:
row 1: Sc in the 2nd sc stitch and the rest of the 8 sc stitches (or until u've covered n/2 stitches). Chain 1. Turn.
row 2: Sc in the 2nd sc stitch and all the way to the end. Chain 1. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until u get a length that's roughly the same as your scarf width. Bind off.
Attach your yarn to the other end of your undone half of your scarf and follow the above instructions BUT DO NOT BIND OFF. You'll get 2 panels at the end of your scarf.
Fold your scarf in such a way that the end edges of your 2 panels meet. (Refer to diagram) Sc in the 2nd sc of both panels and all the way to the end. Chain 1. Turn. (This will join the 2 panels up) Repeat one more row of scs and bind off. Weave in the loose yarns.
