Completed Classy Pendant Necklace (Miyuki set)

Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies


Got the recipe from here but I tweaked it a little. I reduced the portions by about half for all ingredients (Didn't want to make so many cookies), replaced the canola oil with butter, omitted the vanilla extract and added in about one or a couple tablespoons of milk. I guess you could opt not to add in the milk for a crispier version.


Lemon Squares


I pretty much followed the recipe here but halved the portion for each ingredient, omitted the vanilla extract, replaced the lemon extract with about a few teaspoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and added in about 1 to 2 teaspoons of lemon zest. The cookies tasted yummy! (But a bit on the sweet side. If I were to make it again, I'd reduce the sugar and increase the amount of lemon juice by a little)

Stringing seed beads is tiring... LOL

Yeah, I'm now onto a new beading project. Bought another Miyuki necklace beading kit some time back.

Thought I'd make it to wear for my friend's wedding dinner, but alas, I bought this turquoise dress at Hongkong (Part of the dress can be seen in this post... =P) and decided to wear it to the dinner, and this "yet to be started" necklace was a total mismatch.. LOL..


But anyway, I finally started this project 2 days back, and completed the pendant part.



Now, I'm stuck at the arduous task of stringing tiny seed beads to make the necklace chain... LOL... Will be back with more pics once I've finished this necklace.. =P

O' Crafty Day #8 - Acting cute in Kitty Hat

How the hat looks like flat..

Pattern:

Yarn: Tosca Lang Yarn
Hook Size: 4.5mm

I followed the pattern here exactly before I reached the popcorn stitch row.

Instead of just doing the popcorn stitch for just the front of the hat, I did one full row... (I think my head is smaller... *_* ). For this first popcorn stitch row, I did skip a dc before and after one popcorn stitch...

For the next row, I did a row of sc. I then continue another row of popcorn stitch, but without skipping any single stitches this time. The columns of popcorn stitches would have a slanted look in the finished hat (quite a cool effect..).

I then randomly searched for a flapper hat tutorial in craftster to create the ear flaps. I attached yarn to each side of the hat, and continue crocheting the ear flaps. It's basically doing decreases to get the ear flap shape.

The final part was doing the pom poms, and connecting the pom poms to the hat. =)

Ya know, I think I'm better off acting cool than act cute.. LOLs..

Made 2 more pendants and a pair of earrings

... on Monday for the sake of matching an aqua/turquoise-colored dress that I bought in Hongkong.. It's very last minute though.. Haha.. Coz I had to attend the wedding dinner that very night.. =P





Earrings were made with aqua blue and turquoise Swarovski crystals and some small sterling silver beads, sterling silver eye-pins and white gold earring hooks.

Well, I ended up not wearing any of the pendants... Felt that wearing both the earrings and pendant looked kinda too much for me.. The earrings alone balanced the whole outfit pretty nicely. =P

The clearest I can get with the 18mm to 55mm lens (Think my hands were shaking a little too... As usual.. =|...)... The clouds seemed extra bright due to the increased exposure and longer shutter speed...
