It's almost a habit for me to make Ang Pow (aka red packets) decorations for home decorating when Chinese New Year is near....
For this year, I've made a couple of simple Ang Pow lanterns...
... with interesting colors... ^.^ But looking at this red packet design just makes me recall the very "duh" incident of queueing up for almost 2 hours just to get 1 box of drinks and a packet of rice.... ==
My mum and I won this CNY contest from Lian He Zao Bao (Our local Chinese newspapers)... But they had 1800 winners!!!.... So they squeezed 900 at Tampines Courts and another 900 at Suntec... Had to "turn" this lucky wheel thingy and see if one was lucky enough to win their big prizes.. By the time I had finished my Japanese lesson and reached Courts, it was almost 2pm and the queue was already exaggerating long!! By the time it's my mum's and my turn, all the good prizes were gone. == Well, my mum got to receive a lot of the above ang pow packets though.. Which was still kinda ==''
Goldfishes!!! (Tried to search for the instructions again but couldn't find..! Weird...)
Big goldfish... I couldn't find eyes, and my mum got the "bright" idea of pasting buttons on it... It now looked more like some rodent than a fish... ==
Small goldfishes... My mum pasted them on the glass divider...
And of course not forgetting a cute rat.. Well, it's the year of the Rat... So bought this kit from Golden Dragon...
It looks kinda quirky.. Isn't it... My mum said it looked better without the flowers on the ears... But I thought it looked cute!
