It was pretty exciting while releasing the resists after 12 hours of dye curing. You never know what designs you might get!
Here are the first 4 pieces that I made in the class, using the basic method of folding and resists.
And here are the interesting ones. The next 4 experimental pieces that I did. How did I end up with scalloped stripes? =P
Will be having part 2 of the class this weekend and we will be learning how to sew a pouch using 2 of our favorite dyed pieces! Can't wait!

Hi! I believe our teacher used Dylon dye for the dye bath. =)
I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you could tell me how you folded and dipped your fabric to achieve the pattern on the bottom left of your "experimental pieces". I love that pattern but I'm such a newbie to fabric dyeing.
Hi! I'll see if I can set up a post soon to talk more about a couple of folding techniques that I had learnt from this workshop. As for the exact steps that I had taken to achieve that particular experimental piece, I'm afraid I couldn't really remember as we were practically merry-dipping our pieces randomly. Hahaha~ I do vaguely remember using elastic bands to tie a corner, and then dipping that corner though..
Some folding techniques would be great! I imagined it would be something to do with corners, but I love that design and I've been searching for more specific ways to achieve that look and haven't found anything REALLY helpful. I'll be looking for a post!! thank you!
